。 Utopia, where are you??

4th of July

4th of July

Fireworks, BBQ, days off work, etc, the fundamentals of the 4th of July holiday, a celebration of United States of America, the land of freedom, so it says.

Freedom, to what extent is freedom's true form? no one will ever know.

Yet, spread across, 4th of July to many, is just another long weekend, a chance for friends/family to gather together, to, eat...

Spectacular fireworks brighten the night sky, indicate years of revolution that actually succeed, just, how many of us truly appreciate the works done by the founding fathers??

Founding fathers, whom are they, what they done, etc, etc... a long forgotten piece of U.S. history that existed in textbook ready for next gen's test-only...

People often taking things for granted, not appreciate the difficulties of early ancestors, their hardships and struggles...

I'm not sure which category I should fit in, yet just feel more and more inrooted into this land, where I lived for twenty years... It's a major part of my lifespan, 2/3 of it...

As I told many of my friends in China, many ancient eastern philosophies that are actually performed by Americans than chineses... the compassion and willingness to accept others are just much greater performed by many Americans than those of Asian citizens...

I think, because U.S' history is only two-hundred plus years, most, are eager to learn and appreciate about other cultures, inevitable this year, the Chinese culture, Eastern thinkings...

The key lies in the 'eagerness to learn' factor, well, knowledge is a constant work, no one can say he/she learned enough... that's just a scary part of modern life... never ending learning path... drain each and every one's energy out...

Of course, U.S. has its dark sides, mirror has two faces, no doubt; no one is perfect, thus when you're at top, you will be hunger for more power, the controling factor.

At least, in many's view, U.S. is willing to take immigrants, in large quantities, I don't know, maybe world's larges 'take-in' country...

I'm not sure about Europe, but in Asia... U.S. is the #1 ideal country to immigrate to, if one can do it... especially in most Chinese's mind... Can't blame them, I'm one of them... I just got to this land bit early, and adopt to it... sort of...

This is a sad phenomenon for Chinese... even with the growing power of China's government, people still wish to migrate to other nation... is China not safe? or they just got too many tasks that can't bring up to the sun?? Much like early trends established by Taiwan since WWII... This is, the sadness of a current culture, that would need many generations to heal over the wounds caused by both WWs...

The trend is ongoing, which is fine, as people do have the will to live at their desire location at their capability, just like the outlaws fled from U.K. to U.S. to find the opportunities in the new world back in 1700s...

Which is what I said, U.S. is open to the world, taking in as many as it can, the process may not be nice in each case, but ok... how many nation in the world would take others for residents? or others want to go?

Just that, when you're here... please try to adopt to this nation, this culture... not bring in the bad habits of your olds and think this land owes you big time... or take the advantages of every bit of social benefits...

You leave your home nation to U.S. because you don't want to live there and often time, want to have a changeover... so, make the changes... living the lifestyle exactly as you were back in homelands in U.S. isn't a proper method of immigration... there isn't any 'immigrate' part in that process... you just 'move' from one location to another...

U.S. is quite a tolerable society that accepts many different cultures, which is its beauty to these dates. In my twenty years in U.S., I see cities changed its demographical ratio in a faster rate, well, I'm in California, no doubt...

Whites been push out of the city as Asians flown in, this is crucial in L.A., it's bit scary... the entire city became Chinese dominated, and those Asians, are... to my opinion... not very nice... often rude.. not sure what etiquette lesson they got, but.. yeah.. terrible...

Sometimes I think this is a sort of karma... as the founding fathers' method to get rid of the original Indians... well... there is a cycle... just took a bit longer...

In the city of Arcadia CA, well, south of Foothill Blvd. is occupied by Asians... north is for the Whites... city building codes are different for each region... it's like two cities...

About ten+ years ago we visited family friend there... a call came, she answered, speaking in Taiwanese, but in a weird way... after she hung up and told us... it's a wrong number... eh... wrong number and you speak Taiwanese with it?? that's never happen in North Cal.. or any other part of the nation... is L.A. a U.S. city anymore???

That was ten years ago... so... what will happen when a new wave of immigrants from China that are yet to come??? what more will change??

Luckily... many whom from Taiwan are now flow back to Taiwan... for a simple reason... national health care benefit...

Ethically, I do not know what to say about them...

Well, U.S.' medical expense is high for sure, part of the reason that drag big corps. down...

Certain people evade tax and social responsibilities while grabbing every benefits whenever they can, that's just part of human nature in some group of people, are they wrong... well... who knows... wish them well...

Much like the pre-'97 wealthy refugees from H.K. to everywhere in the world, then the return the land of promise after '04 when H.K. is on the rise...

In this age, people shifts around the world, some to make better livings, some to take chances, some, well, each has his/her story....

I only wish, if you decided to leave for another or not, have faith in the land where you live, try to understand more about the land that nourished you, it's your homeland, original or second, or third... feedback to the society... we only got this much of land, nation, where else you want to go next??

4th of July, land of freedom, yes, we cherish you and the goal, let's hope we can continue this tradition in old or new residents of this lovable land, it may not be perfect, yet it's what we have.

Let's, work on it.

Happy Anniversary, U.S.A.!!!
